# A checklist for stopping fake COD orders

Use this checklist to make each COD order prove it has a reachable customer before fulfillment. COD PRO can verify a phone by WhatsApp or SMS code before checkout, confirm Shopify orders by WhatsApp, voice call, or email, and hold selected orders in Shopify.

## Before checkout

- Add the **Buy with Cash on Delivery** button under Add to cart.
- Turn on WhatsApp or SMS one-time-code verification.
- Check that shoppers reach your usual Shopify checkout after verification.

## After an order arrives without matching verification

- Select WhatsApp, automated voice call, or email confirmation.
- For voice calls, make sure the message asks the customer to press 1 to confirm.
- Choose automatic or manual mode for the message type.
- Use a customer message language that COD PRO supports.

## Before fulfillment

- Create rules for orders that need a real Shopify fulfillment hold.
- Confirm that staff can see a held order in Shopify before they fulfill it.
- Release held orders after confirmation, or take the appropriate manual action.

## Keep the setup ready

- Add credit to the prepaid wallet.
- Review country and channel rates in Pricing inside the app.
- You do not need to connect a Twilio account or complete Meta or WhatsApp Business onboarding.

### Does a one-time code confirm the Shopify order too?
A verified number at the Buy with Cash on Delivery button means the resulting order is confirmed immediately when placed. Other orders follow your normal confirmation flow.

### Can I use SMS to confirm Shopify orders after they are placed?
No. Shopify order confirmation uses WhatsApp, automated voice call, and email. SMS is the code channel at the COD button.

### What happens when a customer confirms a held order?
COD PRO can release the real Shopify fulfillment hold automatically so the order can continue through fulfillment.

### Can I manage held orders myself?
Yes. COD PRO lets you hold or release an order from its orders list.
