What's new in COD PRO
September 2026
- A cleaner COD form on phones: a slim order bar in your store’s colours stays at the top and opens the full order, WhatsApp and SMS sit side by side, and the last step shows the order like a receipt with a “Number verified” stamp.
- Faster address suggestions: results arrive sooner, picking a suggestion always fills in the street, and scrolling the list no longer picks an address by mistake.
- Ask for the shopper’s email in your COD form: choose Off, Optional or Required. The email is carried into Shopify checkout, so shoppers don’t type it twice.
- If a verified shopper closes the form before adding an address, reopening it takes them back to the address step instead of skipping it.
- Catch a mistyped country code before a code reaches a stranger: if a number’s country code differs from the shopper’s shipping country (or your store’s country), the verify window asks “We will send a code to <number>. Is this right?” with Send and Change before the first code. Other shoppers see no extra step, and everyone can continue to checkout.
- Fewer wasted codes and lower costs: each phone number can receive at most 3 verification codes per hour and 6 per day across all channels, with SMS limited to 2 per hour and 3 per day.
- Choose which countries can use phone verification: a new setting, off by default, accepts numbers only from your store’s Shopify Markets. Other countries skip verification and continue to checkout; shoppers are never blocked.
- Address suggestions in your COD form: as a shopper types their street, the form offers matching addresses that fill street, city and postal code in one tap. If suggestions aren’t available, the field stays a normal text box.
- Smarter address fields: the form knows the country, shows a state dropdown where checkout asks for one (US, Canada, Australia, India, Japan and more) and checks the postal code format with Shopify’s own rules, with a clear message right under the field. State and country also travel into Shopify checkout, so shoppers aren’t asked twice. If the data can’t load, the form works as before.
- COD PRO now works inside Shopify Sidekick: ask "Which COD orders should I not ship today?", "Why wasn't order 1042 confirmed?" or "Is COD PRO working?" and get answers from your own COD PRO data. Sidekick can also open a prefilled message to our support team or a prefilled win-back / new-arrival campaign, and nothing is sent until you click.
- Your COD form keeps taking orders even when phone codes can't be sent: the shopper enters their number, delivery details and goes on to a pre-filled checkout instead of skipping the form. These orders are not marked Pre-Confirmed.
- New stores can now verify shoppers from day one: we fixed a bug where a store with no order history yet could not send verification codes, so the COD button skipped straight to checkout.
- Address Correction now sits in Analytics, next to Abandoned carts, and the Dashboard's flagged-addresses banner opens it directly.
- The $5 credit for your first COD form order is now offered to every store on a paid Shopify plan, including stores that reinstalled the app.
- The phone preview in Form Builder is now sharp on every screen.
- Form Builder: choose the buttons on your product pages (COD button label, style and order, which theme buttons show, an optional sticky button) with a live preview in your store's own look.
- New verify window: the shopper reviews the order from their real cart and can remove items, and Shopify checkout opens with their name, phone, delivery and billing address filled in.
- Pre-Confirmed orders: orders verified at the button get one badge that names the channel (WhatsApp, SMS or call), and no second confirmation message is sent.
- Buy it now after verification checks out only that product and leaves the shopper's cart as it was.
- Stronger code protection with fair limits per number, device and store, so nobody can run up your costs.
- Newsletter and Campaigns are free on every plan, with fair use.
- Abandoned-cart reminders go at most once per shopper every 30 days, never right after they ordered, and the link uses your store's own domain.
- MCP server: connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Lovable to your store. Ask about orders, stats and your wallet in plain language; it can only read, customer contacts stay masked unless you allow them, and you approve it inside Shopify.
- Buy with Cash on Delivery button: the shopper verifies their phone with a WhatsApp or SMS code, adds their details once, and lands in a pre-filled Shopify checkout.
- One verification engine for every channel, with stronger abuse limits.
- Agent API: scoped keys so your own AI agents and scripts can work with COD PRO.
- Built-in AI assistant inside the app.
- Smarter per-country pricing that follows provider costs.
