Cash on delivery in Saudi Arabia

Saudi sellers commonly use الدفع عند الاستلام for cash on delivery. Arabic is available for customer messages, and English is also available where it fits the storefront and customers. Set up the payment label first, then choose how COD orders become ready for fulfillment. The Buy with Cash on Delivery button can send a WhatsApp or SMS one-time code before checkout to verify the phone number. SMS belongs only to this button verification in the Shopify journey, not to post-order confirmation.

Many stores start with Arabic WhatsApp confirmation and a Shopify fulfillment hold for selected COD orders. Automated voice calls and email are additional confirmation choices. On the call, the customer presses 1 to confirm. A hold is real Shopify fulfillment state, so the warehouse sees the order as waiting rather than needing a separate manual note. When the response arrives, COD PRO can release the hold and your normal shipping work can begin. The service uses approved senders and templates, with no Twilio or Meta onboarding needed.

Couriers and shipment updates

Saudi Arabia sellers commonly ship with couriers such as SMSA Express, Aramex, SPL (Saudi Post), and J&T Express. COD PRO does not integrate with couriers directly. Book the parcel through your chosen courier as usual and add the carrier and tracking information to the Shopify fulfillment. COD PRO sends the shipment notification with the tracking from your Shopify fulfillment, whichever courier you use.

This approach also works when a store changes carrier for a destination or service level. Confirmation remains in COD PRO and shipment execution remains with the courier and Shopify. The shipment message is triggered from the fulfillment details you add, so take a moment to verify the number and carrier before completing the fulfillment. There is no need to connect each courier to COD PRO, and no courier-specific confirmation setup is required.

Example

With the COD button: A shopper in Riyadh places a SAR 245 الدفع عند الاستلام order, verifies their number with a WhatsApp or SMS code, and checks out with the matching phone number. The order arrives already confirmed. The seller ships with SMSA Express, adds the tracking to the Shopify fulfillment, and COD PRO sends the shipment notification from that tracking.

Without the button: A shopper uses normal checkout for the same Riyadh order. COD PRO sends a post-order WhatsApp confirmation in Arabic, and the order waits on a real Shopify fulfillment hold. The customer confirms, the hold is released, and the seller ships with SMSA Express. COD PRO sends the shipment notification from the Shopify fulfillment tracking.
