IVR call COD confirmation for Shopify orders

The default COD confirmation call
COD PRO can place an automated IVR call to verify a Shopify cash-on-delivery order. The customer hears this default script:
Hello there, this is an automated order verification call from our store. Press 1 to confirm your order. Press 2 to cancel your order. Press 3 to repeat the message.
The call offers a simple decision. Press 1 confirms the order. Press 2 cancels it. Press 3 repeats the message when the customer wants to hear it again. That is the core of IVR call COD confirmation: a clear action that the customer can complete on the call rather than an open-ended conversation.
Use the call after a Shopify COD order is placed and before the order moves into fulfillment. COD PRO can place a real Shopify fulfillment hold on selected orders while the store waits for an answer. The hold is part of Shopify, so it gives your fulfillment team a clear status in the same place they already manage orders. Once the order is resolved, the hold can be released and the team can follow its usual Shopify process.
When calls are useful
An automated call is useful when you want a spoken prompt and a direct keypad action. It can be a good choice when a customer may respond more easily to a call than to a written message, or when your team wants confirmation expressed as a press-1 action. It is also helpful as part of a multi-channel workflow. COD PRO supports WhatsApp, automated voice call, and email for Shopify order confirmation.
WhatsApp works well when a customer should see the order summary in writing. Its confirmation template includes the Order ID, product details, order amount, and buttons for Confirm Order and Cancel Order. Email is another available written channel. An IVR call is different: it gives the customer a spoken instruction and a keypad choice. Choose the channel based on what you need the customer to receive, not on a promise that one channel fits every order.
SMS should not be described as an after-order Shopify confirmation channel. In Shopify, it is only used for a one-time code at the Buy with Cash on Delivery button before checkout. When the checkout phone matches that verified number, the order arrives already confirmed and does not receive a later IVR call, WhatsApp message, email confirmation, or fulfillment hold.
Customise the call for your customers
The default script is a practical starting point, but sellers can customise the call text or upload their own audio per language. This lets you make the call sound like your store while keeping the actions clear. Avoid making the message long. Tell the customer that the call concerns an order from your store, then state the choices plainly: press 1 to confirm, press 2 to cancel, and press 3 to repeat.
COD PRO supports these 13 customer languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Malay, Arabic, Portuguese, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Polish, and Czech. Choose a supported language for the customer and configure the appropriate text or audio. Hindi and Urdu are not currently among the customer message languages, so do not set an expectation that calls can be delivered in either language.
Test each language version before you rely on it. Listen for clear store identification, understandable keypad instructions, and a natural pace. If you upload audio, make sure the recording includes all three actions and is easy to hear. The customer should not have to guess what pressing 1, 2, or 3 does.
A simple held-order sequence
Start by choosing the Shopify COD orders without matching pre-checkout verification that should be held. When one of those orders is placed, COD PRO keeps it on a real Shopify fulfillment hold and sends the configured confirmation. If the IVR channel is enabled, the customer receives the automated call. They press 1 to confirm, 2 to cancel, or 3 to repeat the message. The result provides the next step for your team, and the hold is released when the order is resolved.
COD PRO can send automatic follow-ups to customers who do not respond, and you can set an optional auto-cancel timer. Establish a clear team process around these settings. Staff should know when to wait, when to inspect an order, and when to take manual action. A confirmation workflow is most useful when its outcomes are handled consistently.
After confirmation, shipment remains your normal Shopify and courier process. COD PRO does not integrate with couriers directly. When your team creates the Shopify fulfillment and adds its tracking details, COD PRO sends the shipment notification with tracking from that fulfillment. This works whichever courier you choose.
Setup and pricing
You do not need a Twilio account, Meta account, or WhatsApp Business onboarding for COD PRO. The app uses approved senders and templates for its messaging. Configure the customer language, enable the automated voice call, set order-hold rules, and decide whether WhatsApp or email should also be used. Then place a test order to check the call text or uploaded audio and the resulting Shopify hold.
COD PRO uses a prepaid wallet, and call pricing depends on the customer’s country. Rates follow carrier and WhatsApp prices; check Pricing inside the COD PRO app for the latest rate. Review the pricing before selecting follow-up behavior or combining calls with WhatsApp and email. A short, tested call that gives customers three clear keys is a dependable way to ask for a COD decision before fulfillment begins.

Can I customise the call in another language?
Yes. Sellers can customise the call text or upload their own audio per language. Choose from COD PRO's supported customer languages.
Does an IVR call replace WhatsApp?
